Pelvic floor disorders are common disorders affecting many women and it is important to acknowledge these disorders should be treated and not just tolerated. These disorders are often treatable, and Bradenton Women’s Care offers a number of comprehensive services to meet your needs. A pelvic floor disorder (PFD) occurs when the muscles or connective tissues of the pelvic area weaken or are injured. There are many different conditions that present themselves within this category. The most common pelvic floor disorders are urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, and pelvic organ prolapse. PFDs are more common among older women.
Bradenton Women’s Care offers a pelvic floor therapy program that can help you to reduce or even elicit the symptoms of pelvic floor dysfunction. We will provide effective treatment to decrease the symptoms of pelvic floor muscle dysfunction that may include:
- increased urinary frequency and/or leaking with coughing, sneezing, or exercise
- strong urge
- pain with sexual activity
- difficulty with urination/defecation
- pelvic or genital pain
- bladder pain
- pelvic organ prolapse
We will work with you to create a treatment program to decrease your pain and discomfort and provide education to improve your overall emotional and physical status. We will educate and instruct you in proper exercises to help bladder and bowel issues. Our services will help you decrease your symptoms and emotional stress and improve your pelvic health and overall quality of life.
